Cant believe that after all this time still no reply!!! these people are just so uncaring, the medical profession is meanmt to be a caring profession ha ha!!! Could you go there in person, and speak to the nurses yourself? If you dont live too far it might be worth a try. Once you are there they cant really turn you away when you explain your reasons. It took me 2 weeks to get as call back about taking pred, and then they said it was because they had to get the consultants advice!! Then whats the point of specialist nurses!! It makes you so angry, do they have any idea what affect this has, or do they even care???!!! Raving and fuming of Rotherhithe BARBARA

Hi Julie no wonder you are miffed again. I was going to say it's great about your news, which I'm sure it is, but they have let you down again. Fingers crossed that you will get the news tomorrow. Take care. Glenys. x

Hi Julie you must be very miffed. Very bad manners apart from anything else. I was alway told when i worked in an office to always ring a person back in an allotted time even if there was no news so to speak . Poor you it is out of order

Morning Julie! Seems ages since we spoke sorry! Really pleased to hear that the Humira has been agreed, that's a start if nothing else! But what a faff with the communication ... I mean how difficult is it to phone back out of courtesy even if unable to provide further info.? Unfortunately it seems to be the way of the world and it is something that really does need to change. Thinking about you today and fingers crossed you get some sort of response. Hope you start to feel better very soon, Lyn x

I can feel a HUGE rant coming on....This is just b**** disgraceful. How can these so called medics treat sick patients in this totally uncaring manner? It's so frustrating when there is nothing you can do.
I agree with Fuming of Rotherhithe that (if the hospital is close by) you just go down there and refuse to budge until you've been seen.
Yours in hopefully anticipation Appalled of Timperley

I gave it until 3pm today then after a lot of nagging from my parents I phoned the anti-tnf nurse (she will probably regret the day that she gave me her number ) She said that the consultant hadn't given her my notes back and that she would call him. I waited again and didn't think she was going to phone but got a call at 5.15 to say consultant says I can have a depo and she has booked me in for 11am tomorrow - what a result! I feel really sorry for the nurses in the Rheumy department in our hospital and feel awful chasing them but I don't think they would have called if I hadn't bothered them. I also went to GPs and he has given me some antibiotics for the chest infection. I think I will have to wait to finish them before they order the Humira but will ask tomorrow, Thanks for all your messages - it really helps to be able to have a rant to people who understand what this is like. Julie

Hi Julie,
Just caught up with your news - what a palaver!! On the plus side, good news about the anti tnf and being approved. Hope it all goes well and that you're getting some relief from the steroid jab.
Thinking of you,
lots of love,

Hi Julie Been thinking about you and hoping you are okay. How did the depo go? Hope the chest infection responds quickly to the antibiotics. You seem to have been hanging about for an age! Lyn x

Good news Julie. Don't feel guilt about phoning the nurses, that is what they get paid for! At the end of the day they go home and don't have to live with the pain that you are living with.
Hope that the depo helps and the chest infection clears up quickly to allow you to start the other meds. No climbing now!

Thanks for you support everyone. I had the depo so hopefully that will start to kick in today. Have open appointment to go for chest x-ray when I've finished the antibiotics next week. Then have to ring nurse so she can check the results. I apologised to the nurse for badgering her and she was really ok about it and said that's sometimes the best thing to do because it reminded her to chase the consultant. Hopefully will be back at work next week :)
